When I Was A Little Girl...
Dress Up!!!
I think I was about two when I realized, to my mothers dismay, that women wear dresses sometimes, and that pink is pretty! I'm pretty sure my mom was dead set early on that I was going to wear green and blue all the time, and that I would be super outdoorsy. But here's what she's told me before: "But you were just too cute in Pink!"
Yes, I sure did like dressing up. And these dresses- they couldn't just be any old dress. Certainly not a jumper, and Oh my gosh, Mommy! Don't make me wear the jean skirt! It has to be twirly!
Seriously, I threw a fit if it was not twirly. What can I say? I was and will always be...
A Princess.
I remember my Granny sewing me my very first ball gown. I was 2, and my face looked just as it does in the picture to your right. I was happy!
She fashioned it similar to how Bells gown is in Walt Disney s' "Beauty and the Beast", except it was not yellow. I didn't mind too much, because It really was twirly. I could dance in it, and I could be in my own world in it.
I think I wore that thing straight for the next 5 or 6 years. Boy did it get tattered!
Now, at 19 years old, I want to sew. I don't have a sewing machine, but I want to sew, and so a sewing machine will be my next purchase! I shall have a ball, and make gowns, and it will be splendid!
Until then though, maybe I should read up...
Yes, Yes my dear, Sometimes and always, there is a certain part of all of us that never stops dreaming, and never stops

:) Follow your dreams Caroline. Maybe if and when you have daughters of your own, you'll be well prepared! Great job, I enjoyed it.
